Job Details
We are currently seeking a talented Project Permit Coordinator for a position located for 3 months in Calgary, and then transitioning to various sites in British Columbia on rotation. Our client is a joint-venture between two leading pipeline construction companies.
Duties:
Scope out required permits for projects. Review, document and understand environmental risks and impacts of a project. Support the environmental scoping (assessment) process of a project. Coordinate and track permit application and compliance during the approval and construction phases of a project. Liaise with external regulators and communicate permit status to the project team. Provide compliance advice and technical support to ongoing construction. Update the document control system with project permits. Interface with internal and external engineering and environmental consultants. Perform permitting recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation; preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes; and maintenance of files, logs and submittals as they pertain to the permitting process. Track conditions of issued project permits. Experience:
6-8 years of experience on municipal, pipeline or civil infrastructure projects. Experience in the environmental field is considered an asset. Skills and Knowledge:
Proven knowledge of provincial (particularly British Columbia), MOTI & municipal requirements for permitting processes. Knowledge of main construction office processes such as project set up, subcontractor management, change orders, and RFIs. Ability to probe and listen carefully, and to present information clearly in an appropriate style and persuades others in straightforward situations. Ability to analyze complex codes and ordinances. Strong negotiating and presentation skills.
