The Information Systems Branch is responsible for providing strategic IM/IT leadership for the Justice and Public Safety Sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders. The branch includes four divisions: MCIO Division, Client Services Division, IT Security, Privacy & Operations Division, and the Strategic Initiatives Division.
The IT Security, Privacy & Operations Division is responsible for oversight and maintaining a stable, secure, and efficient operational environment for our sector clients and their business applications. Key services include information security and privacy, infrastructure support, liaison with central agencies and a Service Desk that supports sector staff and our broader stakeholders.
As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be part of a dynamic team of technical coordinators, mid-tier system administrators, data modellers, business area portfolio managers and others who work together to meet the needs of our clients. You will be responsible for the day to day tasks of managing the security, performance, backups and provisioning of database resources, as well as planning patches and upgrades as required. You will be working with diverse individuals in different technical and non-technical roles to implement and maintain applications and systems in the service of clients of the Justice and Public Safety Sector.
Qualifications for this role include:
Degree, diploma or equivalent in the computer science field Experience working within complex IT environments Experience with: Oracle database administration Oracle Backup and Recovery methodologies including but not limited to RMAN and Datapump Oracle Database tuning and performance troubleshooting processes UNIX/Linux shell scripting in support of standard DBA tasks.
