The controller is an integral part of the leadership team and responsible for ensuring timely and relevant monitoring/reporting of the overall financial performance for four locations. Reporting to the owners, the Controller will provide leadership and guidance for two direct reports while overseeing the full accounting process for both studio operations and yoga teacher training, as well as, overseeing the monthly accounting cycle, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring business policies and standards are developed and implemented.

Provides strategic leadership and direction in all aspects of the accounting operation Managing the execution and delivery of all internal and external reporting Monitor and analyze monthly operation results against forecast/budget Ensures business risks are appropriately communicated Manages HR and IT departments Prepares and maintains financial metrics for reporting Analyzes and advises on revenue, expenses and balance sheet items Manages financial systems including structure/designing, charts of accounts, report writing and access controls Develops & documents business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and manage risk Resolves escalated client service issues Provides leadership to the organization and leverages the company’s financial tools/reports Skills & Qualifications:
CPA designation with a minimum of 3 years of solid management experience Demonstrated leadership background with the ability to communicate financial information and influence positive change Proven ability to develop strong relationships based on trust and integrity Proven leadership skills with a track record of process improvement Experience developing and implementing systems, process and procedures Advanced analytical abilities with the aptitude to see the big picture and trends in industry Ability to see efficiency opportunities and implement new processes Enjoys a fast-paced environment and non-traditional business hours Knowledge of the Yoga Industry an asset This role will also appeal to an individual with a positive, solution based, and “get stuff done” attitude.
