Job DetailsWe are currently seeking dynamic, and focused CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. This role requires an individual who has a strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and an ability to solve problems.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the role will require the individual to operate large CNC lathes, create manual machine set up programs using G code, and will need demonstrate experience machining components to specified tolerances. Position available on Afternoon Shift (Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:30am).
The successful candidate will have experience with manual G code programming and using Fanuc control, ability to interpret engineering drawings and have strong mathematical skills. Previous experience working in a precision customized machine shop working with stainless steel components and fitting will be considered first, but willing to train.
Interpret engineering drawings to determine specifications, set up and operating requirements Verify quality of machined work to specifications using measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and height gauges Calculate geometric dimensions, tolerances, and location of surfaces to calculate dimensions in conformance to specifications based on 3D modelling. Set up and observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Calculate and set controls to regulate particular machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle, etc. Lift and position work piece manually or with a hoist, and secure it to magnet chuck or work table. Minimum 2 years’ experience in operating large CNC Lathe machine(s) (Mori Seiki) High School or Post Secondary Diploma with technical knowledge of Machining or General Machinist, Mould Maker, Tool & Die Certificate. Knowledge in the areas of interpreting detailed engineering drawings. Knowledge of machine shop setting working with tight finishing tolerances. Strong ability to set up tools and manual programs using G-code for CNC Lathe machines. About Us
